Why Water Matters? An Animated Explainer for Children

Creating awareness about water usage and mindfulness through simple visual storytelling.

Module : Open Elective — "Water Matters"

Project Type : Academic Project | Educational Awareness — 2023

About the Project : As part of the NID open elective “Consciousness and Redesigning Perspectives,” I created an animated explainer video aimed at children to raise awareness about water usage and conservation. The film introduces where our daily water comes from, how it reaches us, and why it’s important to use it wisely. Through playful visuals and relatable comparisons - like per capita water usage across different countries — it encourages young viewers to be more mindful and responsible about water consumption through friendly visuals, infographics, and simple narration.

Target Audience : Children (Ages 7–12)

Elective Titled : Consciousness and Redesigning Perspectives

Objective : Is to make children aware of water’s role in daily life, its conservation, and the global need for sustainable usage-presented in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way.

Design Approach : Using a flat-style animation, bright colours, and infographic elements, I crafted a visual language that's both informative and playful. The poster you see here was designed as a part of the visual identity for the video.

Designing with purpose, for a better and more aware future
